Draft — under legal review. Questions: support@campline.app

1. What we collect.

Your phone number (account verification), display name, and your camping activity: commitments, GPS-verified arrivals, check-ins, breaks, line-chat messages, and reports you file or that involve you.

2. What we never collect.

No camera. No microphone. No Bluetooth scanning. No motion tracking. Ever. Campline verifies presence with GPS and peer confirmation only.

3. Location.

We use your location only while you're camping: to verify arrival at the venue and during check-ins. We do not track you outside your camp. GPS coordinates are automatically deleted 30 days after each check-in. The fact that a check-in happened (pass/miss, time) is kept as part of your camp record — the coordinates are not.

4. Retention.

Line-chat messages are deleted after 90 days. Your camp record — positions, stats, timeline, badges (your keepsakes) — is kept so your camping history stays yours, unless you delete your account. Reports and governance records are kept while relevant to the safety and integrity of lines. Child-safety reports are preserved for at least one year as US law requires, regardless of other deletion rules.

5. Who sees what.

Other campers in your line see your display name, position, and what you post in that line's chat. People not in your line cannot see the line's membership — only its size. Safety data is framed positively (verified safe overnights); we do not publish incident counts about you. We never sell your data. Reporter identities are never shown to the people they report.

6. Service providers.

Campline runs on Supabase (database), Vercel (website), and Resend (operational email). Your data is processed by these providers to run the service — nothing more.

7. Legal disclosures.

We disclose data when the law requires it: child-safety reports to NCMEC, and valid law-enforcement requests.

8. Your rights.

You can see your camping record in the app. You can delete your account and associated data by emailing support@campline.app; in-app deletion is coming in an update. Keepsake facts embedded in others' records (e.g., a line's frozen final roster) may persist in anonymized form.

9. Age.

Campline is for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it.

10. Changes and contact.

Updates will be posted here with a revised date. Questions: support@campline.app.
